About Me…

Have you ever eaten something that did not agree with you? I’m here to tell you, you are not alone.

Almost 11 years ago, my youngest daughter was born and by the time she was 2, I was over 60 pounds overweight and depressed. One day I was showering and could hardly breath trying to wash my back, and said enough! At that moment I knew I needed to lose that extra weight to be able to keep up with my kids.

So my weight loss journey started. I found an eating plan that worked for me, and within 2 years I lost that 60 pounds, and have been able to maintain my weight. Sounds like a happy story right? Not quite. Within the last 7 years, I have had anything from stomach pain, cramps, gas, bloating, reflux, allergies, and muscle pain. I had no idea what was going on. My doctor started by getting me allergy tested, then referred me to a gastroenterologist, then an ENT, then a urologist, with little avail. I was exhausted, not just physically, but from having to run to specialist, to specialist and test to test. Needless to say after about 6 of those 7 years my test results only revealed, severe inflammation from front to back, a slight allergy to cats, mold and pollen, something called silent reflux, and a guess of interstitial cystitis. Ok, so now what?

When my husband had a heart scare about a year ago, a very sweet doctor came to check on him. She was not our regular doctor, but the first thing she asked was, what is your diet like. I perked up, it was like a lightbulb. I soon enrolled myself into her care. I was over taking pills that only worked for a minute, and antibiotics that I was now being prescribed almost every month. The first time I met with her, I told her that very same thing. She began me on a new route, to look at listening to my body when I ate the foods we normally ate. Second meeting, I had my list and she cut me off a lot of foods, and had me take one more blood test. Finally, I had answers after receiving these results.

I don’t want you to have to waste 10, 8, or 4 more years of your life in pain, at the doctors, or being tested. Why not start with what you are putting in your body? I hope you are as ready as I am to begin your new journey to health and happiness.
